Harriet Hargrave | Visit Our Store

History of the quilt shop...

Opened in 1981 by Harriet and her mother, Fran, Harriet’s Treadle Arts was the first quilt store in the Denver area to specialize exclusively in machine quilting, piecing, and appliqué. Now this is the standard in almost all stores nationwide. Today the store is owned and operated by Harriet and her daughter, Carrie.

Starting in a small 600 square foot house, the store from 1991 to 2017 was 3,600 square feet of quilting heaven! We offered over 3,000 bolts of the finest quality cotton fabrics, over 17 different types of batting to choose from, an extensive thread selection, and notions for every use are offered in a very warm, homey atmosphere. We closed our retail location in Colorado on April 22, 2017.

Now we have relocated to Carrollton, Missouri and are in the process of building a small store on our farm to house the website business and offer notions, threads and battings to quilters locally if they want to visit us on the farm. The "Farmstand Quilt Shop" as it will be named will be open for business sometime in 2018, we will keep you updated, but in the meantime the website continues to be available for your shopping convenience.
