Heirloom Machine Quilting Boot Camp with Harriet Hargrave
Come and join Harriet Hargrave for the most extensive four-day beginner’s machine quilting class you are likely to find! Whether you have never machine quilted before, or you have been working at it and still need help — this is the place you need to be.
Harriet has been called the “Fairy Godmother” of machine quilting, as she was at the very forefront of the machine quilting revolution in the early 1980’s. Award-winning quilters like Diane Gaudynski and Debra Wagner began their machine quilting careers in Harriet’s beginners classes.
This class is much more than sewing time. Extensive information on workspace, threads, tension issues, preparing the quilt top, batting and finishing are a few of the topics covered, in addition to the most tried and true building block system for learning free-motion quilting skills. Based upon Harriet’s best-selling book Heirloom Machine Quilting and From Fiber to Fabric. Heirloom Machine Quilting has been on the market for 25 years and is in its fourth completely revised and expanded edition. From Fiber to Fabric is the quilter’s textbook for all things from the creation of fabric and batting to their care and keeping and is a must have if you are serious about quilting, with information found in no other book on the market.
Evenings will offer time for consultations about your quilt tops and/or quilts, for guidance or quilting ideas, as well as personalized troubleshooting.
If you are serious about learning the art and skill of machine quilting, four days with Harriet Hargrave will not disappoint you and will send you on your way to making your own award-winning quilts!

Accommodations
When you register, you will be sent a list of several nearby hotels, all 2 1/2 stars to 4 stars and of varying rates. These hotels are recommended as they are close to Harriet's Treadle Arts and are easily accessible.
If you have family in the area, you are welcome to stay with them, we just ask that you keep your traveling distance under 10 miles from the store. Harriet’s Treadle Arts is located at: 6390 W. 44th Ave., Wheat Ridge, CO 80033.
We start class promptly at 9:30 a.m. and usually don't end until 9 p.m. Traffic is often an issue in the mornings and we would like everyone to arrive safely and in a timely fashion.
If you are in doubt as to the distance from a particular location, please contact Carrie and she can help you.
Every morning you will enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then your lunch will be catered in at the store, dinner will be as a group at a variety of local restuarants.
Transportation
Renting a car is highly recommended so that you can easily get back and forth to and from Harriet's Treadle Arts where your class will be held and your hotel. Other options are available, please contact Carrie if you have questions about getting around Denver.
It is recommended that you make your airline reservations so that you arrive in Denver at least 3 hours prior to the start of the class on November 6th, giving you enough time to pick up your luggage, car, get checked in at your hotel, and get to the store for the beginning of Boot Camp. Your return flight should leave 3 hours after the conclusion of Boot Camp, again so you can make the 30 minute drive from the store to the airport and get your car turned in.
Most of the recommended hotels are right off the I-70 corridor which is the gateway to the Rockies... if you are planning on having family members accompany you they will find endless things to do in and around Denver or within a short drive in the mountains, just ask Carrie for more information when you register.
Come join the FUN!!
